Baby Pictus Gecko (Paroedura picta)

Pictus geckos (Paroedura picta), also known as Madagascar ground geckos, are small nocturnal lizards native to the warm, semi-arid forests and scrublands of Madagascar. They thrive in environments with moderate humidity and plenty of ground cover, since they are terrestrial rather than climbing species. In captivity, they require a terrestrially oriented tank with a temperature gradient of about 75–85°F (24–29°C), a slightly humid hide for shedding, and dry areas to mimic their natural habitat. Their diet consists mainly of appropriately sized insects such as crickets, roaches, and worms, dusted with calcium and vitamins. With proper heat, humidity balance, and regular feeding, pictus geckos are hardy and enjoyable animals.
