Oophaga Pumilio “El Dorado” is a locality based type of Oophaga native to the Las Tablas region of Panama. Adults exhibit a spotted reticulated pattern with base color ranging from orange to a shiny gold tone. Adults do best as pairs or 1.2 trios and is not recommended to house more than a trio in an 18"x18"x24" tank. Like all Oophaga, El Dorados are obligate egg feeders and must be raised by the parents from the egg to froglet stages. Babies morph out of the water a bright red and the color fades with age to an orange or gold.
